ESIS IPT Guidelines 2022/23
Practical Training (PT) is an essential part on Exploration And Mining Geology and Petroleum Geology offered by the Earth Sciences Institute of Shinyanga. It is conducted after the second teaching semester for a period of 8 weeks, commencing around June each year for 2nd year students according to the proposed curriculum on NACTE. The students are paid living allowances by their private sponsor for the whole PT period.
The main objective of PT is to provide an opportunity for the students to amalgamate theory and practical. PT offers training valuable experience in a real life situation that cannot be simulated in lecture rooms. In this way, the student can enhance his/her skills, knowledge, work abilities and attitude towards her/his areas of specialization.
